Your local bike shop sells tacos SPD. You may have to remove a section that access to the soles, the holes that create the flange. Clip is not hard to do. If it is not clear to you, ask the people in the bike shop. They are here to help.

You want a series of wedges SPD compatible. If you have a bike you can buy a set of pedals, so that the pedals are fitted with nails. You should be able to get SPD boots for $ 15 - $ 20. Talk to the gym and see what use the pedals.

There are 2 kinds of staples-ATV (an almost triangular piece of metal with 2 screws which are mounted side by side) and bike (like a triangle, but much larger, and kept in a PIN each triangle) corner. Check the bike pedals you're using, and buy accordingly.
